This is a song of gratitude.
Yes we know that thanksgiving should be a habit and not a seasonal thing, but then there are things God does that propel us to thank Him at certain seasons.
For instance, He led us all through till end of the year, and brought us even into a new year, now this is more than enough reason to say FATHER, THANK YOU.
The Psalmist says in Psalms 100:1-5;
On your feet now—applaud God!
Bring a gift of laughter,
sing yourselves into his presence.
Know this: God is God, and God, God.
He made us; we didn’t make him.
We’re his people, his well-tended sheep.
Enter with the password: “Thank you!”
Make yourselves at home, talking praise.
Thank him. Worship him.
For God is sheer beauty,
all-generous in love,
loyal always and ever.
